Tv Shows That Always Make Us Hungry

Few things go as well together as Netflix and food. There’s just something about lounging lazily in front of a screen that just makes us want to indulge further – and certain shows out there just seem to want to encourage it! Hugo Chetcuti and team bring you a list of shows that are bound to get your mouth watering and your stomach rumbling.

Twin Peaks

This cult classic was revived last year for a third season to immense critical success. Apart from its beautiful soundtrack, whimsical characters and surreal storylines, it also became closely associated with one another thing – food. Fans are known to serve Agent Cooper’s favourite snacks during viewing parties, including cherry pie, doughnuts and, of course, plenty of black coffee: “Black as midnight on a moonless night.”

Hugo Chetcuti recommends: Chef’s Table

One of the most popular food documentaries on Netflix, this show is a slice of culinary heaven. It features world-class chefs around the world as they express their love for their profession, and takes a look at what goes on behind the scenes of some truly incredible and delicious recipes. Put this one under your To-Watch list ASAP.

Friends

Everyone’s favourite 90’s sitcom was packed with scenes putting food front and centre. When Rachel & Co weren’t getting up to hilarious hijinks, they were spending hours at Central Park with muffins and lattes or hanging out at a coffee shop, munching away as they exchanged quips and one-liners. And who could forget Monica the chef wearing that uncooked turkey on her head for Thanksgiving?

Parks and Recreation

There was only one thing that Leslie Knope loved more than the government and her friends: breakfast food. If this show didn’t make you crave waffles or bacon and eggs, then we suggest you go back and rewatch the entire thing from beginning to end. The infamous Paunch Burger along with Ben Wyatt’s calzone obsession also deserve honourable mentions.

The Sopranos

Often hailed as one of the best TV shows of all time, The Sopranos ended its 6-season run back in 2007 – yet devoted fans of the series still watch the reruns and boxsets. The eponymous Soprano family were proud of their Italian roots, and demonstrated their love for the mother country through Neapolitan cuisine, with recipes such as Carmela’s “baked ziti” and Artie Bucco’s arancini making frequent appearances throughout the series. Definitely a show for lovers of Italian food.

Here at Hugo’s Pizza and Pasta you can enjoy some of the best Italian dishes on the island, with a menu that offers recipes such as Tagliatelle Alla Chef (Hugo Chetcuti’s favourite) and the incredibly scrumptious Black Forest Risotto.
